BIO Hellas was founded in 2001 and was approved by the Greek Ministry of Rural Development & Food as Inspection and Certification body for Organic Products (EU code EL-03-BIO). It is also accredited by the National Council of Accreditation (E.SY.D.) according to the EN 45011 standard for Inspection and Certification Bodies.
BIO Hellas is based in Athens/Greece and its activities are extended in Cyprus, Romania and Bulgaria. It employs more than 100 specialised scientists for the execution of inspections and the research/support of organic agriculture. The activities of BIO Hellas include the research and promotion of Organic Agriculture and the Development of Inspection and Certification Systems at Balkans.
